Head to downtown Lancaster on the first Friday of each month to celebrate Lancaster’s arts community! Centered around Prince St.’s Gallery Row, the city comes alive with locals and visitors alike browsing local art galleries and museums, taking in live music performances and dining at Lancaster’s many renowned restaurants. No matter your tastes, you’re bound to find something to enjoy at First Friday.
There’s nothing like seeing a ballgame in person, so don’t forget to pick up tickets to see Lancaster’s minor league baseball team in action! The Lancaster Barnstormers arrived in Lancaster in 2005 at the Clipper Magazine stadium in the city’s northwest corridor and have been wowing crowds ever since. Fans can take in games during day or night, with fireworks celebrations capping off each nighttime event in the summer. Ticket prices are a steal, as are concessions including a wide craft beer selection from local breweries.
Nature lovers and outdoors enthusiasts have hundreds of miles of nature trails to hike and explore around Lancaster county. Whether you prefer rugged trails to test your endurance or gentle hikes to take in Lancaster’s unique natural beauty, plenty of options are available to you travel on bicycle or by foot. Long’s Park Summer Music Series
Each Sunday evening in the summer months, thousands of Lancastrians come together get their groove on at free concerts at Long’s Park! For over 50 years, the Summer Music Series has entertained music lovers at the Long’s Park Amphitheater, featuring a diverse selection of musical acts and food vendors. Bring lawn chairs, a blanket, picnic basket and your dancing shoes – concerts start at 7:30pm and are held rain or shine.
